Hi,
I estimate it formed over 35 years (70 Mya to 1Mya radiometric. However I have no clue to mechanism at this point. Indeed, in a private communication I said "I have done enough research on the dating and manner of formation of the Grand canyon to decide the following; I don’t believe I will have the basic data (inc. Radiometric dates, accurate stratigraphy and even shockingly basic geology) to rightly correct my faux pas in the next three hundred years at the snail’s pace with which current Colorado Plateau research is being carried out. It seems to me that most academic institutions working on the above problems are being starved of money for whatever reason.".
The reply included "That is an interesting observation and confession. Most YEC, which you are not, would never admit such lack of knowledge. A book on the Grand Canyon geology is going to press soon and should be available before summer 2016 that will explain all the errors that YEC make in their interpretations and it should be of interest to you as well. I will let you know when it is available. There are 11 different authors who have contributed to 20 chapters. I was NOT one of the authors but helped to critique its contents. I am not an expert on the Grand Canyon, but these geologists have spent their careers studying various aspects of its history.
Yes, money is rather scarce for research on the Grand Canyon.
Thanks for contributing your thoughts."
Let's see what we can do collectively.

Doc2.pdf (114.14 KB) the conversion formula I use cf. Barry Setterfield who formula it is. Parametric data of mine is a little different to Barry's original. We are probably almost the same now.
